Detroit Pistons and Shock ask Fans to Fill Toolbox@palacenet.com.

Teams' CEO Asking Hard Workin' Fans for Suggestions to Improve Experience

Officials from the Detroit Pistons and the Detroit Shock are looking for a few bright ideas to enhance the fans' experience - and who better to ask than the fans themselves?

Beginning today, fans can write in to Detroit Pistons and Shock CEO Tom Wilson and offer their ideas on how the organization can improve the fan experience at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The email address is toolbox@palacenet.com and all ideas will be reviewed by the organization with the top 20 per month reviewed by Wilson. Wilson and the organization will respond to all emails within 48 hours and fans will know what is being done with their suggestions.

"The idea behind toolbox@palacenet.com is identical to the employee suggestion box you see at so many companies," Wilson said. "Nine times out of ten, the best ideas come from those closest to the situation - in this case our fans. They live it, they breathe it and they experience it, so listening to their suggestions - from the simple to the outrageous will make us a better organization and will make a Pistons or Shock game a better experience."

Each month, Wilson will pick the best idea of the month and the person suggesting the idea will be named "Employee of the Month." This person will be recognized at a 2006-07 regular season game. The Pistons hope to honor the person at the specific game that their suggestion is implemented. A plaque, with the Employee of the Month's picture and a description of their idea will hang in the new Comcast Pavilion.

Also each month, the Employee of the Month's idea, along with three other suggestions from the month will be posted on www.pistons.com and www.detroitshock.com. Each of the three ideas will be addressed and the explanations will give fans an idea of why the suggestions were, or were not, selected.

"We feel that by making our responses public and explaining some of our reasoning, we will give fans great insight into our business," Wilson said.
